Background

Adal's main areas of work are in:

  • Private family and children law
  • Non-molestation and Occupation orders
  • Domestic violence
  • Matrimonial Finance
  • Criminal defence

Criminal defence

Adal accepts instructions for all criminal cases in both the Magistrates’ and Crown Court. Although most serious criminal cases attract entitlement to legal aid with no need to pay for representation, it also means that there are restrictions and limitations on what your legal representatives can get paid to do for you.

If you choose to instruct directly, Adal can represent you from the moment you are charged to the verdict in court or even to appeal. You will have the advice and assistance of a barrister throughout the process, and you have the reassurance that the person representing you at trial is the same person who has been with you from the start.

Private Family and Children Law

Adal regularly represents parents in disputes concerning the living arrangements and contact between parents and children. Adal has represented clients where arrangements have been complex and even in cases where the children and parents travel between countries for contact.

It can often be the case that one parent refuses to return or threatens to abduct the children. Adal has successfully represented parents to obtain prohibited steps orders and in international abduction cases in the High Court to obtain injunctions and orders which have prevented parents from taking children outside of England and Wales.

Domestic Violence

Domestic abuse is not always easy to prove. For those accused of perpetrating domestic violence, clearing their name is not always straightforward. Adal can represent you regardless of whether you are the victim or have had allegations made against you. He has extensive experience of contested Non-molestation and Occupation order proceedings.

Financial settlement

Adal has represented husbands and wives in both divorce and financial claims. Because Adal is authorised to conduct litigation, he can represent clients without the need for a solicitor being involved.

Adal has represented in complex cases where assets have been difficult to trace, and where one-party has been hiding assets and refusing to disclose their true financial position. Adal regularly appears in both the High Court and Family Court, and can accept instructions from clients across England and Wales.

Approach

Adal takes a client centred approach and will speak to you about your case before any fees are quoted or charged. Conferences with Adal can be arranged at a convenient time including during evenings or weekends. You can speak to Adal on the phone, Skype, WhatsApp, or Zoom. Adal has been authorised to conduct litigation. This means that he can represent you without the need for a solicitor, and can even go on the court record and handle the day-to-day running of your case.

Adal graduated university with a First-Class Bachelor's degree in Psychology and was awarded the Graduate Diploma in Law by the University of Law. He went on to complete the Bar Professional Training Course at the City Law School and was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.

Adal speaks fluent English, conversational Urdu and Punjabi. He has extensive experience in working with clients in the Asian community whose first language is not English.
