Background

Before joining TBG, Hugo taught consumer law, contract law and advocacy for many years at university as an Associate Professor in Law. During this time he played an instrumental part in Hone v Abbey National Plc, a successful claim against bank overdraft penalty fees that was later taken up by The Office of Fair Trading against 7 other banks in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. His breadth and depth of professional experience in this area enables him to provide highly effective advice and representation.
