Private Children Law

Ravi regularly represents parents in private law proceedings, including applications for child arrangement orders, prohibited steps orders, non-molestation orders and occupation orders.

His caseload typically includes cases featuring the following issues:

Ravi has experience of representing both Applicants and Respondents in non-molestation orders and occupation order applications bought under Part IV of the Family Law Act 1996. He has attended all levels of hearings, ex parte, initial application ‘on notice’ hearings, return dates and contested final hearings.

He has worked with local and national charities and often assisted clients at very short notice. He has previously been nominated for local awards for assisting victims of domestic violence through work with the National Centre of Domestic Violence (NCDV) including sometimes on a pro bono basis when legal aid funding was not available.  In 2014 he was nominated for a Public Service Award for this type of work in Lancashire and received a certificate.

He has practiced this type of advocacy for a number of years and at almost every family court in Manchester, Lancashire and Beyond.

Public Law and Adoption

Ravi acts for parents in public law family matters including interim removal hearings and contested final hearings and adoption proceedings. Mr Sethi has experience in drafting the associated written work including court orders, case summaries, opinions and threshold documents.
